Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on January. 19. 1946 into a very poor family with 12 kids eventually included, discovered early that she was able to escape her hardships through a creative mind. Prior to learning how to read and write, Dolly Parton was creating her own songs. After 8 years of age, she was playing her first guitar. When she was 11 years old when she was 11, she began singing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. In the that same time, Gold Band Records was an independent label. Even though she was still at school, she established a name for herself on the local scene. However, her goal was to to play on a larger level. When she was graduating in 1964 she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart at the top of Monument Records. The syndicated television show of Porter Wagoner needed the services of a new singer by this time. Parton was a part of the Grand Ole Opry 1969 after contracting in 1969 with RCA Records. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974 when her solo releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their relationship with Wagoner, wrote"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and saw it climb to Number. This was the first time a single hit the top spot.
