April Ross was one of just a handful of women beach volleyball players who have won medals in more than one Olympics. In Tokyo during the next few days she will attempt to net her third medal with fellow the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross is also hoping to win her first Olympic medal. Since she's 39 years old, it may be her final chance. However, she's confident that top honors are firmly in reach. Ross on NBC Boston, said that when the team performs consistently or well they could win a gold. In addition, I'm planning be relying on a little bit of good luck. Ross was born in California in Costa Mesa in 1982. Her family lived in the area with her father, mother and sibling. Apart from competing in various sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. In the period 2007-2013 she played with Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the World Championships in 2009. They took home a Silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends who won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, edged each other to take home the gold. The fate of the matter was that Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They went on to compete for the bronze beach volleyball medal at Rio Olympics 2016. They were joined by Walsh Jennings. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC in her college prior to becoming a professional. Ross's time in the Trojans was remarkable.
