Bonanza The first color western told the tale of the Cartwrights who were a fictional family living near Virginia City Nevada, an actual mining boomtown in the 1800s. His character was the Cartwright's son who was the youngest, and whose mother Marie (in the first episode and then Felicia) had been widowed and whose daughter died from illness.
